Welcome to the Northwood Shared Resource Center

Picture of the NSRCThe Northwood Shared Resource Center (NSRC) currently provides services to customers from the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), the Department of Revenue (DOR), and Department of Health (DOH). NSRC also leases raised floor space to the Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of State (DOS). The NSRC maintains a 7 days a week and 24 hours a day operation with redundant power, back-up generators, and offsite disaster recovery. Northwood was included in the 2008 Gartner study of data center consolidation options. The report identified Northwood as one of three possible consolidated data centers, along with the Southwood Shared Resource Center and the Northwest Regional Data Center. According to Gartner, Northwood is between levels (or tiers) 2 and 3 on the three-level data center capability scale established by the National Data Center Institute, ability to expand, a raised floor, low power utilization, and disaster recovery capabilities.

During the the past few weeks, the Data Center Consolidation Group has held numerous meetings with the staff potentially affected by the consolidation. In those meetings, some common questions were asked repeatedly. You can view those questions, and their answers, on our "Frequently Asked Questions" page. Refer back to this site for updates.
